SAA是澳大利亞的標準機構(Standards Association of Australian)，因此，有人稱澳大利亞認證為SAA認證。事實上，SAA只是標準制定機構，不頒發(fā)產品認證證書。SAA后來又改名為Standards Australia Limited。SAA是一家獨立的公司，與政府沒有直接關系，但****和州政府是其中的一員。SAA與澳大利亞****簽署了一份備忘錄，承認SAA是澳大利亞非政府標準組織的最高組織。備忘錄還指出，標準的制定應符合世貿組織的要求。因此，一些協(xié)議指出，當適當?shù)膰H標準存在時，就沒有必要制定新的澳大利亞標準。澳大利亞的標準是“澳大利亞標準“AS”開頭，澳大利亞和新西蘭的聯(lián)合標準是“AS/NZS“從標準代號開始。澳大利亞的標準與新西蘭的標準基本相同，但也存在一些國家差異。澳大利亞和新西蘭的標準統(tǒng)一和認證相互認可。只要產品獲得澳大利亞SAA認證，也可以在新西蘭國家銷售。

SAA認證方式：

目前國內申請SAA認證有兩種方式，一種是通過CB測試報告轉到SAA。另一種是直接做AS/NZS測試報告，然后轉到SAA。

新的電氣安全系統(tǒng)（EESS）將原來的強制性和非強制性產品改為1類（低風險）、2類（中等風險）和3類（高風險）**產品分類。

Level 3 equipment 3類高風險產品：

Electrical and electronic equipment defined in Annex B of this standard to be high risk equipment that is required by electrical regulators to be certified and registered on the EESS national date base before being placed on the market. In New Zealand these are referred to as declared high risk articles

level 2 equipment 2類中度風險產品：

Electrical and electronic equipment defined in Annex B of this standard to be mediu m risk equipment which is required by electrical regulators to h*e a compliance folder and be registered the EESS national date base before being placed on the market. In New Zealand these are referred to as declared medium risk articles

Level 1 equipment 1類低風險產品：

Electrical and electronic equipment which is neither level 3 equipment nor level 2 equipment電子電氣設備既不是3類也不是2類的產品。
